Our next walk is this Saturday, July 8th, at Dryden. This is our new year round, and it will be a group walk. Meet at the start point, the Queen Diner, at 9:45 to do the walk at 10:00.
We had a great turnout for our June walk on the Vestal Rail Trail. Thanks to Doug and Cinda Gausman for setting up the walk and making last minute adjustments when the start point had to be changed.

Our June 11 walk, originally scheduled for Jones Park, has been changed to the Vestal Rail Trail. The start point is the Coal House. Check the walk page under Traditional Events for details. Jones Park is hosting a trail bike event that day, so trail walking would have been a bit of a challenge. The Vestal Rail Trail is a very popular route and is a surfaced trail.
Our first traditional walk of the year will be held in Owego, NY on May 6th. The start point is the Tioga County Historical Society. The Historical Society will offer free goody bags to walkers. We haven't walked Owego in several years, so we hope to see everyone there.
The December walk and holiday party were both great! Everyone enjoyed trying out the new section of the Vestal Rail Trail and the party at Unos afterwards.
The website has not been completely updated for 2017 yet, due to web hosting problems and procrastination on the webmaster's part. The year-rounds are up to date and the rest of the site should be done by the end of the week. Many apologies for the delay. The Cortland year round group walk had a few hardy souls on somewhat chilly day. Remember, we do group walks throughout the year, giving you an extra chance to add some miles.
Be sure to join us for a group walk of our Cortland year-round on November 12th. Start time is 10:00 a.m. Cortland qualifies for many special event programs. There will probably be a group lunch at a local eatery afterwards. Get some exercise before the holiday madness begins!
Walkers had a great time in October's walk in Cazenovia, NY. Thanks to Vicki Darrow for setting this one up. Our next walk is scheduled for October 15th in Cazenovia, New York. It should be a lovely walk with something for everyone. Half of the walk (5K) is on a rail trail and the other 5K goes through town. The walk qualifies for lots of special programs, as well. The walk start point is behind "the Depot" which is not a store, but rather an old depot building. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. The fall colors should be beautiful.
Sadly, we had to cancel our fall trip to Harrisburg. Although we had a number of people signed up, it just wasn't quite enough to qualify as a big club outing. September is a busy month for many people. Next year, we will try to either plan our club trip earlier, so people can pencil it into their schedules, and/or try a different month. Thanks to Bill Donahue for his work on trying to get things set up.
