Spring News

Been a while since an update, so there is a lot of news.  The Cortland walk in March was good, with a number of different groups hitting the town and enjoying lunch afterwards. Our Elmira walk drew 15 walkers, despite the cool weather and the rain.  We had a new club member sign up at the walk, which was quite exciting.  A big welcome to Paul Solyn and a big thank you to Bill and Diane Donahue for setting up the walk.

Our next walk is on May 20th and it is a group walk of our Watkins Glen year-round.  Meet at 11:00 and enjoy this lovely walk with a group.  We'll be offering a beautiful patch to celebrate National Physical Fitness & Sports Month.

Speaking of year rounds, we plan to do an evening walk this summer of the Binghamton YRE.  Best of all, we've scheduled it for August 3, which will be a "First Friday" evening.  On First Friday's, the downtown art galleries, shops, and restaurants all stay open late.  There should be plenty of activity downtown--a perfect time to walk.

Plans are in the works for our next club car trip.  We're planning to carpool and go to Oswego, NY on August 25.  The Great Lakes Seaway Volkssport Association, the newest volkssport club in New York State, sponsors this walk.

The Waterfall program is winding up.  People have through this year to get their waterfall books filled up.  They've been trickling in.  The Baseball program is in it's second year now.  If you enjoy baseball, there's still time to purchase a book.  Go to the baseball page for details.

Hope that people like the new website.  I've noticed, just by using my own gadgets, that certain things can be hard to pull up, depending on the device being used (type of tablet, laptop, cellphone).  It is a work in progress.  Hopefully it will become more streamlined over the summer.
