Trekking with the Trees Special Program

January 1, 2014--December 31, 2016

Begins January 1, 2014 and ends December 31, 2016. This program promotes any event that has a 'theme' of trees. The criteria is to walk in a city with a tree type name (Example: Forest Grove, CO), on streets with a tree name (Example: Ash Street/Oak Avenue), by an arboretum or places such as the World Forestry Center count, though parks that don't have a tree emphasis are not eligible. Individual trees with markers or plaques mentioning a tree name or historical interest will qualify. NEW: It has been decided to include any walks in cities that have been listed as a Tree City by the Arbor Day Foundation.  Look at the Tree City USA website to see if your walk is listed. Due to the large number of Trekking with the Trees walks, the best place to search for qualifying walks is the AVA web site. Tree/wood related businesses, such as lumber mills, tree nurseries, orchards or furniture stores do not qualify. Qualifier for 20 different sanctioned events. Cost of book $10. Patch: 3 1/2" x 4".
