Conditions of Attainment for America's Baseball
Walks Program
2011 YRE walks




 



  • Any sanctioned   event that goes by a baseball diamond or stadium used by an Olympic, college, major league or minor league baseball team
    in the United States or Canada qualifies for the program.


  • Walks also qualify if they pass by a baseball related museum, statue, memorial, historical or grave marker or other site.


  • Little League fields and diamonds in public parks do not count for the program. Advertising or retail establishments, such as billboards
    or sports merchandise stores also do not qualify.


  • A total of 18 different baseball walks will complete the walkbook. There must be 18 different events, but not necessarily 18
    different baseball stadiums. For example, if two walks go by the same baseball museum or stadium, they can both be counted. Insert cards are allowed, but
    write-ins are not.


  • No duplicate
    vent numbers are allowed. If a year round event was used for an entry in the program book, i.e., 1900+, then 1900 without + is not allowed. Repeating the
    same event in another year is also not allowed.
     



  • Typical walks that qualify for the program include Cooperstown, NY (Baseball Hall of Fame), Baltimore, MD (Camden Yards Stadium), Surprise Satdium, AZ (spring training), and Greenville, SC (stature of Shoeless Joe Jackson).
     



  • Completion of 18 events will get walkers a fun,beautiful,
    Baseball Walks patch.  


  • Upon completion of a qualifying Baseball Waks event, the event stamp shall be imprinted in the Baseball Walks Volkssport Program book. The participant may enter the walk's location and date of the event. An insert card may be used if the book was forgotten.  Handwritten entries are not acceptable. This program is not retroactive.  Events completed prior to the official start of the programand before
    qualifying Baseball Walks

  • You can count walks not listed on the official
    Baseball Walks list, however please send Colleen an e-mail with a description of
    the walk.

  • Program runs from January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2013.

  • Checks ($10) should be made payable to FLRVC. When you have
    completed the record book (18 baseball events), mail it to Colleen. You will
    receive a certificate and patch, plus the return of your completed book. If your
    record book is lost, it will be replaced after payment of $1 to cover printing
    and postage.


  • To have a walk included in the “Baseball Walks ”
    program, send an e-mail to chailey@binghamton.edu letting us know
    the AVA event ID, the start point, the club, and the baseball qualifier  that is
    viewable from the walk. Or send the same by snail mail to: Colleen (address
    above). Photos from your walks are always appreciated.
