Whaupaunaucau State Forest Walk
IVV World Walking Day Event

This is a new walk for the club. Whaupaunaucau State Forest has miles of wooded trails and a large pond. Come join us while we explore this new route.
Start point: Whaupaunaucaupau State Forest

Special Events: Trekking with the Trees
TRAIL INFORMATION/CONDITIONS: Trail is rated 2C. Walk is on forest trails. No strollers or wheelchairs. Please don't litter.
Directions: Take State Highway 12 north of Norwich to State Highway 320. Take 320, which becomes King Settlement Road (County Route 29) to Post Road. Turn left onto Post Road, and then drive up the hill to the State Forest.
ELIGIBILITY: All ages are welcome to participate. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Pets must be on a leash and you should clean up after your pet.
REGISTRATION: Event is eligible for acquisition of IVV achievement awards. One event stamp may be entered in event books. Fee is $3.00. Unlimited distance credit may be entered in distance books. You may walk twice using the same start card. Event award shield is available for $2.00, patch for $3.00. IVV achievement books are available for $5.00 each. No refunds once event has started. Participants may walk at no charge if no event credit or award is wanted.
AWARD: There will be a special, IVV World Walking Day certificate available for this walk and a limited number of patches.
TIME: Start anytime between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
WEATHER: Events are held regardless of weather. Plan and dress appropriately.
FACILITIES: Basic privy. No food or water available on route.

PARTICIPATION: Each participant must register at the start point and fill out a start card. Start cards are marked at check points and turned in at the finish.
The Finger Lakes Region Volkssport Club welcomes all to join in our events. We conduct monthly walking events with several additional events held in the summer months. We invite your participation, comments, and inquiries into club activities and membership.
