Montrose (PA) Blueberry Festival

ECome join the Finger Lakes Volkssport Club for a 5/10k walk through Montrose, Pennsylvania. This walk will take place during Montrose's annual Blueberry Festival.
Special Programs: Food for Thought, Honoring Our Flag, Lakes & Reservoirs, National Register of Historic Places, Take a Walk in a City Park, Trekking with the Trees, U.S. Post Offices, Underground Railroad & You'll Never Walk Alone

Host: Finger Lakes Region Volkssport Club
Start Finish : Montrose Center Square (we will have a table on the Village Green). The village green is to the right of the courthouse. The village green will be filled with tables and booths, so look around and you'll find us.

Trail Information : Trail rating is 1B. May not be suitable for strollers. Trail is along dirt roads, city streets and cinder railroad beds. There are a few hills.
Eligibility: All ages are welcome to participate. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult; pets must be on a leash and you should clean up after your pet.
Registration: Event is eligible for acquisition of IVV achievement awards. One event stamp may be entered in event books. Fee is $3.00. Unlimited distance credit may be entered in distance books. You may walk twice using the same start card on the same day. B awards are available. IVV achievement books are available for $5.00 each. No refunds once event is started. Participants may walk at no charge if no event credit or award is wanted.

Time: Start anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Directions: From the North: I-81 South to Exit #1, Kirkwood. Route 7A to Pennsylvania, then Route 29 to Montrose (17 miles from Exit #1). From the South:I-81 North to Exit #223, New Milford, left on Route 11, 1 mile to Route 706 to Montrose (9 miles from Exit #223). There is no real public parking area in Montrose, outside of the downtown center. You may have to park on side streets during the blueberry fest.
Weather: Events are held regardless of weather. Plan and dress appropriately.
Refreshments: Water and food available at the start point. Blueberries!
