Elmira Walk

STARTING POINT: Lights Bakery, 211 West Second Street, Elmira, NY.

Special Classifications: Bakeries, Diners, Historic Churches, Main Street
TRAIL RATING: Trails rated 1A. Trails will go through Elmira, visiting a historic Civil War cemetery, the Elmira College campus and will go by Mark Twain's study and gravesite. (5k route does not go by the gravesite.)
ELIGIBILITY: All ages are welcome to participate; children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Pets must be on leash and owners must clean up after pets.
REGISTRATION: Event is eligible for acquisition of IVV achievement awards. One event stamp may be entered in event books. Fee is $3.00. Unlimited distance credit may be entered in distance books. You may walk twice using the same start card. IVV achievement books are available for $5.00 each. No refunds once event has started. Can walk free if no credit/award is wanted.

TIME: Start anytime between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Finish before dark.
DIRECTIONS : To get to Start Point from Rt. 86 (17), take exit 56 and follow signs for Route 352 (Chuch Street). Go through 7 Traffic lights and turn right at the 8th traffic light (N. Main St.) Go two more lights and turn left. Lights Bakery will be on the left directly across the street from Weis Market.
For those interested, Lights is a bakery/restaurant and serves good breakfasts and lunches.
WEATHER: Event will be held regardless of weather. Plan and dress accordingly.
REFRESHMENTS: Water and restrooms available at the Start Point.
