Chittenango Falls
This waterfall walk goes through lovely Chittenango Falls State Park (near Cazenovia, NY). The trails goes past 167 foot Chittenango Falls and goes through the gorge, meadows, and forests. Walkers must wear footwear in good condition. NOTE: There is a $4.00 fee to enter the park, but if you get there before then, it is free to enter.

START/FINISH: Chittenango Falls State Park parking lot. We will be located at one of the picnic tables near the parking lot. Look for our sign.

TRAIL INFORMATION: Route is rated 3. NO strollers, wheelchairs, or pets. Walk is on wooded trails, fields, and park roads and involves a strenuous walk down (and up again) stairs to the base of the falls. Wear sturdy shoes, carry insect repellant. One small section of trail is overgrown and a bit weedy. For this reason, long pants are recommended. Most of the wooded trails are quite easy walking, but there may be a few muddy sections.
ELIGIBILITY: All ages are welcome to participate. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult; pets must be on a leash and you should clean up after your pet.
REGISTRATION: Event is eligible for acquisition of IVV achievement awards. One event stamp may be entered in event books. Fee is $3.00. Unlimited distance credit may be entered in distance books. You may walk twice using the same start card. IVV achievement books are available for $5.00 each. Participants may walk at no charge if no event credit or award is wanted.
AWARD: B awards available.
TIME: 10:00 a.m to 2:00 p.m. If you get to the park before 10:00, it is free to enter, however, the walk itself will not start until 10:00.
DIRECTIONS: From Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse: Thruway (I-90) east to Exit 34A, Route 481, south to Fayetteville exit, Route 5 east to Route 13 south to park entrance. From New York & Albany: Thruway (I-90) west to exit 34, Route 13 south to park entrance. From Binghamton: Take 81N to exit 15 to merge onto US 11. Turn left on US 20. Turn left onto Forman St./US-20/NY-13. Turn right onto Albany ST/US-20/NY-13.Turn left onto Farnham St./NY-13. Continue to follow NY-13 to Chittenango Falls S.P. Once in park, look for FLRVC signs.
REFRESHMENTS: Restrooms and water are available at the park.
